Best Mini Golf Spots in Kansas City
Mini-golf is a fantastic way to spend an afternoon with friends. It's fun, challenging, and inherently hilarious. Every "hole" can be a unique design with wild, artistic, and skill-defying challenges or a pleasant put in the sunshine. Whether you're looking for a fun activity between slices of pizza or an excuse to leave the house or you're a mini-golf pro looking for your next course to conquer, Kansas City is the place to be.
Here in KC, we love mini-golf in all possible forms. There are over a dozen places to putt around town, and we've got the scoop on the best mini-golf courses, snack bars, and all-day experiences. Grab your friends and take a swing at the best mini-golf in Kansas City.
Puttery - Cool Avante Garde Indoor Mini Golf
Puttery is the single coolest place to play. This indoor mini-golf course will make you want to wear stylish shades and take selfies with the artwork to make your entire social media friend list wish they were there with you. Its edgy artistic styles and Avant-garde course designs transform the warehouse interior with black-painted ceilings and a wild, dream-like experience. There's a pop-art hole, haunted-house attraction, glittering chandeliers, and spray-painted brick walls.
Not to mention the cocktails, burgers, and charcuterie boards at the mini-golf restaurant. You can drink and putt and catch an amazing lunch between rounds to boot. There's a reason we keep coming back (and introducing more friends) to Puttery.
Prehistoric Putt - Dinosaur-Themed Indoor Mini Golf
If you love dinosaurs, or know someone who does, then Prehistoric Putt is a must-putt location. Competing for the best indoor mini-golf in Kansas City, Prehistoric Putt's dino-themed course is one you'll never forget. Every room features awesome dinosaur sculptures, and you can bet they will play a part in the mini-golf attraction challenges.
We love Prehistoric Putt not just for the dinosaurs (though the dinos are very cool), but also for the challenge. This indoor course has some of the most challenging, creative, and enjoyable hole designs in the city. Courses include a zipline, obstacle course, foosball, pinball, batting cage, volcano (not real lava), and a halfpipe.
There are also a few arcade games, dinos you can climb and sit on (for all ages), and an enormous Jenga game. It's a fun day for absolutely everyone, with lots of dinosaurs!
Craft Putt - Beer, Burgers, and Black Light Mini Golf
Craft Putt is a bar & grill with black light mini-golf holes on felt-covered platforms. The cocktails and local craft beers are good. The giant melty steak burgers and barbecue sandwiches are even better, and it's the only place in town for black-light mini-golf. This is a great dinner destination for a group of friends that likes to drink, hang out, and putt in the evening glow.
On certain nights, there is a barbecue sandwich buffet where you can eat your fill, top up your beer, and putt all night. They host regular events including Glow Golf on Fridays, Taco & Trivia Tuesdays, Barking Bingo & Adaoption (shelter adoption) on Saturdays, and Boozy Bingo & Benefit (charity night) on Sundays.
KC Wheel - Ferris Wheel with Mini Golf
The KC Wheel is an icon of the city. The glowing Ferris wheel that often lights up the night sky and can be seen from the freeway is a place we often think about going to but never do. Well, let us tell you something you might not know about the KC wheel: There's mini-golf at the base. Whether you're waiting for your turn to go up on the wheel or relaxing after a spin, you can enjoy a round of light mini-golf and ice cream from the snack bar.
It's not the biggest or most exciting mini-golf course in Kansas City, but everyone should ride the KC Wheel at least once for the amazing view - and to say you did - and the mini-golf helps to round out the afternoon. Plus, the Snack Bar has funnel cake fries.
Note: The individual Ferris Wheel cars are climate-controlled, so they're comfy all year round.
Parkville Mini Golf - Lovely Outdoor Terrace Mini-Golf
Parkville Mini Golf is a surprisingly charming outdoor course in historic downtown Parkville, just northwest of KC. The course style is a lovely, extensive wooden deck and terraced garden under a beautiful leafy tree canopy. Putting at Parkville is a sun-dappled experience with peaceful surroundings. If you prefer quiet conversation and a cool breeze with your mini-golf instead of the arcade vibes of indoor courses, you'll love this location.
The course design is classic, with a moderate amount of challenge but no wild attraction-style holes. Instead, they maintain the historic charm with a garden-themed design.
It's styled in the fashion of Old School KC, complete with cool bronze statues (you can chill with the bench statue) and an ice cream shop to enjoy before or after your game. The cones are enormous, but we particularly love the giant chocolate-chip cookie ice cream sandwich. It's also within walking distance of many other delightful downtown locations, so you can enjoy a full-day outing with mini-golf as the highlight.
